JobsFreeForAll New Release — “Jobseeker Profile Wizard”

December 19, 2009

We are pleased to announce the latest release of the JobsFreeForAll.com website: ‘Jobseeker Profile Wizard’

The same intuitive user interface that employers use for posting a job is now available to the jobseeker for creating a profile.  If you don’t have a jobseeker profile, now would be a great time to create one.  Creating your profile is easier than ever.  If you set your jobseeker profile to be “Searchable By Employers” that means employers can find you.  Employers really do use the jobseeker search feature of our site, so don’t miss any opportunities!

This release makes some structural improvements “under the hood”, some search engine optimizations, and the usual laundry list of incremental improvements and fixes.

As always, we want to hear from you, especially how we can improve the site, and make it fit your needs even better.

JobsFreeForAll new release — “Job Posting Wizard”

September 14, 2009

We’ re proud to announce the latest JobsFreeForAll.com version release, which includes more than 70 functional improvements and fixes. The biggest news is that it’s now easier than ever to post a job.  It’s so simple we have to call it a wizard!

Employers told us the old tab interface was confusing.  In spite of a warning banner, employers often clicked the Save button before all the tabs were complete.

Now, the tabs are gone.  Clicking Save simply takes you to the next step in the posting wizard.

After you’ve completed the wizard, either by completion or cancellation, you still have access to all the information sections.

It works like a dream!

The second major improvement of this release benefits our jobseekers. We’ve compressed the Company details and the Job details views to take much better advantage of screen real estate.  Description text is wrapped aesthetically around the company logo, and we have compressed the display of benefits.  Now the details of most simple job postings will fit on a single screen without the need for scrolling.  Few other job sites have invested the time and effort we have to design page views that optimize the jobseeker experience. That’s one reason why jobseekers keep coming back.

We hope you like using the new and improved JobsFreeForAll.com.  We really do pay attention to your feedback.  So please let us know what you like and what you don’t.

JobsFreeForAll New Release — Hello Social Media

August 12, 2009

We’ re proud to announce several new developments at JobsFreeForAll.com to make it even more attractive (and useful) to employers and jobseekers. Sweet.

First, we’ve expanded our social media presence.  You can now interact with JobsFreeForAll  through YouTube (check out our latest TV commercial and the extended mix of outtakes and extras), this blog, Facebook and Twitter.

Secondly, we’ve made finding and posting jobs even better by making more than 60 fixes, changes and enhancements site-wide. We’ve also added “Quick Search” to simplify searches by keywords, job titles or company names. Also, clicking on any of the listed job or company keywords currently on the site will automatically add your selected categories to the Quick Search box. Cool, huh?

And we’ve posted a new page on the site that explains our revenue model, which you can access before signing in via the “Employer Site”. Some folks have been wondering, “How do they make money?” Other folks don’t care so much; they’re just happy the site helps them find a job or find a great employee.

Thanks again for all the great feedback and suggestions. Enjoy!

Job meets tech

July 21, 2009

As a web developer for JobsFreeForAll.com, my interests naturally focus on the intersection of jobs and technology and their relationship to each other.   In the tech world, we are quite used to abandoning the old and trying out the new.  The old way to find a job was to wait for Sunday to roll around, find the Jobs section, squint at a few precious tiny uninformative ads, fold your resumes and coverletters into business envelopes, pull up the red flag on your mailbox, and wait for next Sunday.   Next came the classic job board websites like monster, hotjobs, and careerbuilder.  The problem with these sites is: where are the jobs?  It is as expensive and archaic to pay money to post jobs on these websites as it is to post a job in your local newspapers classifieds.  So naturally employers flock to less expensive options, such as Craigslist.  But craigslist is a mess, hard to search, and full of scams.

Our answer to this is JobsFreeForAll.com, which is rapidly rising in Hawaii as the top job site in terms of number of quality job postings.  Our business model is simple: freemium.  Additional premium services will have a modest fee, but don’t worry, our core services, namely, the searching for and posting of jobs, will always be free.
